As a project manager, Pat has led multi-disciplined teams in the design of both small process improvement projects and large capital projects with values up to $80 million.

Over the past 10 years Pat has been the lead electrical engineer for numerous NFPA 70E Arc Flash studies utilizing industry-leading software SKM power tools. These studies include Spartanburg County municipal buildings, all of Spartanburg Water treatment plants and pump stations, numerous Greenville Hospital medical facilities, and numerous Industrial facilities.
Robbie Perkins
Electrical Designer

Robbie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in May 2020. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is an accredited school and he is determined to get his licensure when eligible.

As an undergraduate Robbie has become proficient in design software’s such as AutoCAD and Revit and has more than 8 years of experience in AutoCAD.

While Robbie was a senior, he worked on a design project sponsored by Duke Energy and gained industry experience as a future graduate. He acted as team leader on this design project and has learned how to excel in a work environment. Working alongside Duke Energy, Robbie learned how to create a presentation, host meetings, and keep a team of engineers on a strict timeline.
Brantley Young
Electrical Designer

Brantley attended Clemson University from 2017 to 2021 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May of 2021. During his time at Clemson, he has worked on many electrical and computer-based projects with teams of engineers, and has experience with various programs and programming languages such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, C, and more.
Brantley started working at Matrix Engineering Inc. as an Electrical Designer in August of 2021, and is using his knowledge to gain valuable career experience working alongside his colleagues.
Nick Timmerman
Electrical Drafter

Nick has been working for Matrix Engineering since May of 2024. He has worked on a multitude of commercial, educational, religious, retail, and office renovation projects. His responsibilities include lighting layouts, COMchecks, power plan layouts, and panel scheduling.
Though he is quite new to the world of electrical engineering, he has gained an indispensable amount of experience and knowledge related to lighting, power, and fire alarm layouts, panel scheduling, and more. He is excited to continue to expand his knowledge base and accumulate more experience collaborating with his colleagues on many new and exciting projects
Randy Steedman
Electrical Drafter

Randy studied Architectural and Mechanical Drafting at James F. Byrnes/R.D. Anderson. Following school, he joined the Army as an Infantry Soldier in 2001. After the Twin Towers were hit he went straight to basic training.

Randy has experience running a large business, drawing, designing, and AutoCAD. He is enjoying the electrical side of drafting and assisting Matrix to grow.

Outside of work, Randy enjoys spending time with famliy, personal training clients, sports, and playing video games/technology!

Robbie McDade
Chief Electrical Designer

Robbie graduated Greenville Technical College in 2012 and graduated Clemson University majoring in Electrical Engineering in May 2016. While attending school, Robbie worked for Matrix Engineering gaining invaluable design experience. This experience led Robbie to excel in the classroom, while the knowledge he learned in the classroom has led him to have a better understanding of electrical engineering design and principals. This experience has been key in his approach to design layouts.
As an electrical designer, he has been responsible for the electrical design of numerous educational, commercial, religious, and industrial building layouts. Other projects that Robbie has been responsible for designing include site lighting layouts and generator design projects. Robbie’s responsibilities for these projects have included developing single line diagrams for power distribution systems, performing voltage drop calculations, lighting layout and lighting product selection, photometric reports, receptacle layout, fire alarm systems and QC coordination with other disciplines associated with the project. Robbie has also been responsible for gathering field data for numerous NFPA 70E studies.
Over the last several years Robbie has been involved in numerous LEED projects. These projects focus on green building design. Recent design buildings that Robbie has been involved in include the New Spartanburg High School Campus, USC Upstate School of Business, Beaumont Mill Renovation, and the Spartanburg Community College downtown campus.
